Rail luggage requires the passenger to travel on the same train and remains subject to space and booking acceptance. A parcel may travel on a different train. Is this a courier or delivery service?
This service moves your own motorcycle or scooter between addresses. For goods delivered by a rider, use a local parcel delivery service.
Which documents do I need?
Copies of the RC, insurance and a photo ID. Rail parcel offices also record the registration number on the way bill. Keep the originals with you; a valid PUC is relevant for petrol vehicles where applicable. Confirm any owner authorisation and carrier paperwork before pickup.
Do I need an NOC to move my bike to another state?
Not to transport it. If the bike stays in another state for over 12 months, Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act requires you to apply there for a new registration mark. Road tax is separate from registration; confirm the current requirement with the receiving state authority for your stay.

Can I send my bike by train from Egmore?
Confirm with the Egmore parcel office whether it accepts your model for the destination and train/date. Passenger service does not guarantee motorcycle parcel availability. The petrol tank must be empty before packing.
